El Encanto residents and the history of Tucson

El Encanto Estates was founded in 1928, when the citizens of Tucson were perhaps five percent of their present number. Many leaders of Tucson who participated in the early stages of development of the City and of the State of Arizona, lived in El Encanto. The history of El Encanto, described in the Nomination to the National Register of History Places, includes brief biographies of these early residents. Following is a list of these men and women, with links to the brief biographies in the Nomination document. The numbers in parentheses refer to a list of homes.

About the Membership Directory

There is a trial directory (a few names serving for a test only). The database is secured by authentication of a user through requiring a login name and password. We hope to extend this to include the full list of neighbors.

Prospective

We expect to add more biographies, of recent and current residents of El Encanto, as time and spirit permit.
